Our Pro Wire Athlete of the Week for the week of October 17 is Vandalia girls tennis player Emma Bauer.
Bauer, a junior exchange student for the Lady Vandals, is making the most of her time in Vandalia seeing a good amount of success on the tennis courts. Bauer has played in the #1 Singles spot for most of the season, rolling up a number of wins on the way and she has paired up with teammate Bella Walk for Doubles and again, the two have racked up several wins. Bauer’s biggest stretch of wins though came in the South Central Conference Tournament last Friday as Bauer went 3-0 and beat Rylee Rogers of Hillsboro in the Championship match to win the SCC Singles Title. Bauer becomes the first Lady Vandal since 2014 to win the SCC Singles Championship since Hannah Blythe won the title in back to back years in 2013 and 2014.
