The IHSA released its official seeds for the volleyball postseason on Thursday and the postseason pairings on Friday and three area teams find themselves with top 6 seeds in their Sub-Sectionals.
In the North Clay 1A Regional, the St. Elmo-Brownstown Lady Eagles earned the #1 seed and will have a quarterfinal round BYE. They will open postseason play in the semifinals against the winner of the quarterfinal between #8 Cumberland and #9 Hamilton County. CHBC has also been placed in the North Clay Regional and they will have a quarterfinal matchup as the #13 seed and take on #4 Cisne. The full North Clay 1A Regional schedule is below.
In the Oblong 1A Regional, South Central is the #3 seed and with 8 teams in the regional, will have a quarterfinal matchup against #14 Red Hill. A win would have the Lady Cougars in the semifinals against the winner of the quarterfinal match between #6 Wayne City and #11 Grayville. Altamont is the #15 seed and will have to take on second-seeded Lawrenceville. The winner of that quarterfinal match will face the winner of the quarterfinal match between #7 Oblong and #10 Dieterich. The full Oblong 1A Regional schedule is below.
In the Maryville Christian 1A Regional, Ramsey has been seeded 6th and will face #11 Lebanon in the quarterfinals and that winner is set to take on the winner of the quarterfinal between #3 Maryville Christian and #14 Sandoval. Mulberry Grove is seeded 10th in the Regional and will have to face #7 Metro East Lutheran in the quarterfinals with the winner set to take on #2 seed Okawville in the semifinals. In Class 2A, Vandalia has been sent to the Newton 2A Regional where they are the #8 seed. That gives the Lady Vandals a quarterfinal matchup against ninth-seeded Mt. Carmel with the winner moving on to face #1 seed Newton in the semifinals. The full Newton 2A Regional schedule is below.
