Vandalia senior Andrew Casey finished 8th overall individually to earn an advancing spot to the Sectional while the Vandals as a team finished in 11th place at the Moweaqua 1A Regional on Wednesday. Overall as a team, the Vandals finished with a 346. Individually, Casey turned in a score of 75 for the round to be the fourth of 10 golfers not on an advancing team that earned spots in the Sectional. Junior Aiden Evans turned in a score of 82 and was one of seven golfers who then went into a playoff for the final two advancing individual spots. The seven golfers were whittled down to three after two playoff holes and on the third playoff hole, Evans came up just short to just miss the cut for Sectionals. Casey will compete in the Monticello Sectional that will be held on Monday at the University of Illinois – Orange Course.
