Altamont soccer hit the road on Monday for a game that was a late addition to the regular season schedule and was handed a 3-2 loss at Arthur Okaw Christian. The Indians got off to a slow start while the Conquering Riders scored a trio of unanswered goals in the first half as Altamont trailed 3-0 at halftime. Halfway through the second half the Indians were able to break through and Calvin Bannister was able to secure a Jaxon Phillips pass and find the back of the goal to put Altamont on the scoreboard and cut the Okaw Christian lead to 3-1. Shortly after that goal, Altamont was able to score again when grant Beccue put a shot on goal and got a deflection off a defender for the Indians second goal of the game to cut their deficit to just a goal as they trailed the Riders 3-2. Late in the half, Bannister was able to put several close shots on goal but none would break the goal line as Altamont took the 3-2 loss. The Indians are now 9-3-2 on the season and will be back at home today with another strong opponent on tap as Salem visits Altamont.
