Altamont boys golf finished just one stroke behind Oblong-Palestine-Hutsonville and beat Dieterich by tiebreaker in a triangular match at Oak Glen Golf Course in Robinson on Monday. The Indians finished with a team score of 172 with OPH taking the match with a 171 while Dieterich also scored a 172 with Altamont holding the tiebreaker. Senior Henry Niermann was the Indians’ top finisher with a 40 to earn medalist runner-up honors. The Indians are now set for postseason play as they will compete in the IHSA 1A Robinson Regional on Wednesday at the Quail Creek Country Club.
