For the third time this season, the South Central Cougars earned a walk-off victory, knocking off the Altamont Indians 3-2 on Tuesday night. The Indians got on the board in the top of the first inning when Blake Berg drew a bases-loaded walk, giving Altamont a 1-0 lead. That score held until the bottom of the second, when Colton Tockstein laid down a sacrifice bunt, allowing Aiden Strobel to score, tying the game at 1. Ryker Dodson reached on an error, allowing Luke Shumate to score, giving South Central a 2-1 lead. Parker Bell led off the top of the sixth inning with a solo home run, tying the game at 2. That score held until the bottom of the seventh when Jordan Smith reached on an error and later stole second and third base. One batter later, Aiden Hoover singled to right field, winning the game for the Cougars 3-2. South Central is now 9-7 on the season. The Cougars will be on the road on Friday for an NTC matchup with Neoga. Altamont falls to 6-7 on the season. The Indians will be on the road Thursday to take on T-Town.
