CHBC Routs Mulberry Grove in EIC-MTC Tournament

The CHBC Bobcats scored early and often on Tuesday afternoon, coming away with a 19-6 win over the Mulberry Grove Aces in the EIC-MTC tournament. An RBI double from Max Kircher put the Bobcats on the board, giving them a 1-0 lead. Connor Vaughn reached on an error, allowing Kircher to score, making the score 2-0. An RBI single from Cayden Ondes, a sacrifice fly from Zach Bennett, and a groundout from Curtis Bethel capped off a 5-run first inning, extending the Bobcats lead to 5-0. CHBC added 4 runs in the bottom of the second, highlighted by RBI hits from Vaughn, Lance Roadarmel, and an RBI groundout from Bethel, pushing the lead to 9-0. The Bobcats added 5 runs in the third, making the lead 14-0, before the Aces got on the board with RBI singles from Jackson Elam and Christian Stiff, and added a run on an error and a fielder’s choice, cutting the deficit to 14-5. The Bobcats added 5 runs in the bottom of the fourth, extending their lead to 19-5. Jace Holloway reached on an error, allowing Carson Caylor to score, cutting the deficit to 19-6, but they were unable to draw any closer, falling to the Bobcats 19-6. CHBC is now 3-8 on the season and will play BSE at 4:15pm in Brownstown. Mulberry Grove is now 1-5 on the season and will host Ramsey at 4:15pm today.
