The South Central Cougars split a doubleheader Saturday morning, defeating the Woodlawn Cardinals 7-3, before falling to the Windsor/Stew-Stras Hatchets 12-0. The Cougars fell behind 1-0 in the top of the first inning against Woodlawn, before responding with a 3-run first and a 2-run second, taking a 5-1 lead. The Cardinals scored a pair of runs in the third inning, but South Central added a run in the fourth and sixth innings to secure the 7-3 victory. The Cougars fell behind 8-0 in the bottom of the first inning against WSS, and the Hatchets added a run in the third and four in the fifth, while South Central was held to just two hits in the contest, falling to WSS 12-0. South Central is now 8-7 on the season. The Cougars will be back home on Tuesday when they take on Altamont.
