The Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats took an early lead, but could not hang on, falling to the Windsor/Stew-Stras Hatchets 12-3 on Friday. The Bobcats got on the board in the bottom of the first inning with a sacrifice bunt from Connor Vaughn, giving them a 1-0 lead. The Hatchets scored 4 runs in the top of the second inning, before adding 2 in the third and 1 in the fourth, taking a 7-1 lead. An RBI double from Zach Bennett and a wild pitch allowed Bennett to score, cutting the deficit to 7-3. The Hatchets broke the game open in the top of the fifth with a 4-run frame, before adding an insurance run in the seventh, securing the 12-3 win. CHBC is now 2-7 on the season and 0-6 in the NTC. The Bobcats will be back home on Monday to take on Mulberry Grove in the MTC vs EIC Tournament.
