South Central Can't Overcome 8-Run Fourth in NTC Loss to WSS

The South Central Cougars scored six runs in the bottom of the third inning, but could not overcome an 8-run fourth inning, falling to the Windsor/Stew-Stras Hatchets 11-6 on Tuesday. The Hatchets got on the board with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning, taking a 2-0 lead. A 2-RBI double from Garrett Shumate gave South Central a 4-2 lead, before an error, and a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch capped off a 6-run third inning, giving the Cougars a 6-2 lead. WSS broke the game open with an 8-run fourth inning, taking a 10-6 lead, before adding a run in the fifth to extend their lead to 11-6. The Cougars were unable to get a baserunner the final three innings, falling to the Hatchets 11-6. South Central is now 6-6 on the season, and 2-4 in the NTC.
