Altamont Gets Back to .500 With Win Over Wayne City

The Altamont Indians overcame a slow start and used a big 10-run fifth inning to get a 12-2 win over the Wayne City Indians. Wayne City scored a pair of runs in the top of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. Altamont got on the board in the bottom of the second with a Kale Davis RBI single, cutting the deficit to 2-1. Kaiden Wolff scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the third inning, tying the game at 2. That score held until the bottom of the fifth inning, when courtesy runner Mason Everett scored on a passed ball, giving Altamont a 3-2 lead. A bases-loaded walk to Lucas Berg and a 2-RBI double from Xavier Logue helped the Indians extend their lead to 6-2. Davis reached on an error, allowing two runs to come across before a walk, a passed ball, and a 2-RBI double from Wolff put the 10-run rule into effect, securing Altamont with the 12-2 win. The Indians are now 5-5 on the season. Altamont will be on the road on Tuesday to take on St. Anthony at Paul Smith Field.
