The Vandalia boys golf team competed at the Mattoon Invitational over the weekend. The 2-day tournament split between two Mattoon area golf courses saw the Vandals finish 30th out of 32 teams, shooting a two-round total of 731 with a 375 the first day at Mattoon Country Club and a 356 the second day at Meadowview Golf Course. Despite the rough outing, Coach Christian DiBerardino notes that this year’s performance at the stacked tournament is an improvement from last year when they shot a team score of 770 and finished last. The Vandals will be back in action at home today as they host Greenville.
