The Altamont Indians scored in four out of the six innings played on Tuesday, coming away with an 11-1 win over the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats. Altamont took the lead early in the top of the first inning when Reed Stuemke doubled to score Kale Davis giving the Indians a 1-0 lead. After Carson Milleville singled to put runners on the corners, a balk from CHBC’s Isaac Wells allowed Stuemke to score extending the Altamont lead to 2-0. Two batters later, Kaiden Wolff singled to score Milleville making the score 3-0. The Bobcats got on the board in the bottom of the first when Kale Hardimon led off with a hit by pitch. Three batters later, Cayden Ondes reached on an error to score Hardimon cutting the lead to 3-1. That score held until the top of the third inning when the Indians scored on a passed ball and a sacrifice fly extending their lead to 5-1. Altamont broke the game open in the top of the fourth when three straight singles loaded the bases for Zaine Miller who ripped a 2-RBI double making the score 7-1. A passed ball and an error allowed two more runs to score and Blake Berg capped off the 5-run frame with an RBI double making the score 10-1. The Indians got an insurance run on the board in the top of the sixth inning off an RBI single from Xavier Logue and Miller tossed a scoreless sixth inning securing the 11-1 victory. Altamont is now 3-4 on the season and 3-2 in the NTC. The Indians will be on the road on Thursday to take on Mulberry Grove. CHBC is now 0-5 on the season and 0-4 in the NTC. The Bobcats will be back home Thursday to take on Ramsey.
