Ramsey Can't Overcome 9-run First Inning in Season-Opening Loss to North Clay


The Ramsey Rams baseball team fell behind 9-0 after the first inning and could not keep up, falling to the North Clay Cardinals 12-0 in the fall season opener on Tuesday. After a scoreless top of the first inning, the Cardinals opened up the bottom of the first with a 9-run frame to jump out to a 9-0 lead. North Clay would tack on three runs in the second inning to extend their lead to 12-0. The Rams were held to four baserunners in the ballgame, with Easton Brummet reaching on a double and a hit by pitch, Zion Morrison hit by pitch, and an Everett Hicks walk, but were unable to scratch across a run, falling to the Cardinals 12-0. The loss drops Ramsey to 0-1 on the fall season. The Rams will be at home on Thursday, when they take on Dieterich.
