Boys Basketball Players of the Year:
Kade Milleville, Altamont – Milleville capped off his high school basketball career with another solid season for the 24-11 Indians averaging 14.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.8 steals per game. Milleville surpassed the 1,000 career point mark on January 9 against Dieterich in National Trail Conference play and finished his career with 1,292 points, 667 rebounds, 318 assists and 161 steals. Milleville was named to the National Trail Conference Tournament’s All-Tournament Team and following the season was named MVP of the National Trail Conference.
Qwentyn Stombaugh, Vandalia – Stombaugh was a key part of the Vandals on both ends of the floor leading the Vandals pressure defense and was counted to help move things quickly in the transition game. Stombaugh was a part of the Vandals big scoring trio as he averaged 15.7 points per game and also tallied 2.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.2 steals per game. He had perhaps his most special game of his career in the Vandals February 23 Regional Quarterfinal win over Flora when he surpassed the 1,000 career point mark as a junior. Stombaugh was named First Team All-Conference for the South Central Conference.
