Wrestling Newcomers of the Year:
Kaden Daugherty – The freshman had a very strong debut high school season finishing 33-13 in his first high school season. Daugherty finished in 2nd place at 106lbs in the IHSA 1A Regionals and followed it up with a 2nd place finish at the IHSA 1A Individual Sectional to qualify for State. Daugherty went 1-2 at the State Finals but put up a strong showing in his first State appearance.
Riley Hinton – The freshman started his first high school season by putting up impressive showings at the JV level grabbing first place finishes at 120lbs at the Jack Gardner Memorial JV Tournament and the Lawrence County Tournament before moving to the Varsity level where he won his first IHSA 1A Regional Championship and then took 4th place the Vandalia 1A Sectional to advance to his first IHSA Individual State Finals. Hinton wrapped up his season at 23-10 on the year.
