Our Pro Wire Athlete of the Week for the week of October 31 is the South Central Lady Cougars volleyball team.
The Lady Cougars have been a dominant team since September 24 going 14-2 in that time frame culminating in a run through the Oblong 1A Regional this week that saw South Central get three straight clean sweep wins and capture the program’s third Regional Championship in the last 6 years. The title is the 13th in program history and now the Lady Cougars will attempt to win their first Sectional since 2011. They will start Sectional play on Tuesday at 7:00pm facing Carlyle in the semifinal of the St. Elmo 1A Sectional.
