The IHSA volleyball postseason gets underway today with regional action and two area teams will be in action tonight. In the Oblong 1A Regional, Altamont is the #15 seed and will face #2 seed Lawrenceville tonight at 6:00pm in the first quarterfinal. The winner of the match will face the winner of the second quarterfinal between #7 Oblong and #10 Dieterich. The two teams met in August as Altamont opened their season at home against Lawrenceville and suffered a 14-25, 20-25 loss. In the Newton 2A Regional, Vandalia is seeded eighth and will be in quarterfinal action against ninth seeded Mt. Carmel at 6:00pm. The winner of that quarterfinal will advance to the first semifinal match again top seed and host Newton. The Vandals and Eagles have met once this season, with Vandalia falling to Newton 17-25, 12-25 in the match.
