St. Elmo-Brownstown junior setter Addison Koonce surpassed a big season milestone on Monday night, as she passed the 500 assists in a season mark. Heading into the first match of the night for the Lady Eagles, Koonce sat at 479 assists and picked up 22 in a win over CHBC and then added on another 21 assists in a win over Patoka-Odin to get to 522 assists on the season after Monday night’s action. Making the feat more impressive is that Koonce just switched to the setter position this past offseason during club volleyball.
And while Koonce knew she was over the 400 mark, she didn’t know how close she was to 500 assists.
Koonce is the 7th Lady Eagle to eclipse the 500 assists in a season mark and she is now moving her way up the list for career assists as she now sits at 10th on the list with several games remaining this season plus her senior season still to go.
