The Vandals went on the road Friday night for their first non-conference game in 5 years and came away with a strong 48 to 0 win over Springfield Lanphier at Memorial Stadium in Springfield.
Lanphier opened the game with the football and started to move the ball pretty well on their first possession before a lost fumble that was recovered by the Vandals. The Vandals then rolled to 3 Touchdowns in the 1st quarter and 4 more in the 2nd quarter to build the lead to 48 to 0 by intermission.
The Vandals gave a lot of rest to their starters in the 2nd half as running clock was in place. Because no one scored and no one used a timeout in the 2nd half, the actual time it took to play the 2nd half was 26 minutes.
For the Vandals they finish the regular season with a record of 7-2. They will learn their playoff fate tomorrow night.
