CHBC Falls to St. Anthony in NTC Tournament Quarterfinals

CHBC baseball couldn’t overcome a rough defensive day as the Bobcats suffered an 11-1 loss to St. Anthony in the quarterfinals of the National Trail Conference Tournament on Monday. The Bulldogs took a first inning lead 2-0 and extended it out to 4-0 at the end of the second inning and 5-0 by the end of the third inning while the Bobcats went scoreless. CHBC was able to score their first and only run of the game in the top of the fourth inning and Isaac Wells drew a leadoff walk followed by a single by Cayden Ondes to put runners at the corners. Zach Bennett singled to left field to drive in Wells and cut it to a 5-1 ball game. With runners again at the corners, Lance Roadarmel was hit by a pitch and the Bobcats had the bases loaded with no outs but a strikeout, a fielder’s choice out at home to save the run and a ground out ended the CHBC scoring threat. St. Anthony scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning pushing their lead to 8-1 before another three-run inning in the bottom of the fifth put the Bulldogs ahead 11-1 and triggered the run rule as CHBC fell to St. Anthony, 11-1. CHBC ends their fall season with a record of 7-10.
