Altamont soccer has suffered back to back losses for the first time this season as they fell to Salem 2-0 at home on Tuesday night. After the two teams battled back and forth for most of the first half with neither able to break through and open the game’s scoring, the Wildcats got a break when the Indians keeper couldn’t hang on to a shot and Salem took a 1-0 lead. After halftime, the game again reverted to a tight see saw battle with Altamont still unable to get on the scoreboard but again late in the half, Salem was able to put the ball in the goal and go up 2-0 and hold that lead to give Altamont the 2-0 loss. The Indians are now 9-4-2 on the season and will have another home game on Friday when they host Centralia with game time set for 4:00pm. The game will also serve as a Pink Out game as Altamont looks to raise awareness for Mae’s Miracle. Along with the game, there will be a bake sale, raffle prizes and food with all proceeds going to the Mae’s Miracle fund.
