The South Central Cougars offense was held to just 4 hits on Saturday as they fell 9-4 to the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes. Teutopolis opened the scoring with a 3-run first inning to take a 3-0 lead but the Cougars responded in the bottom half of the inning, scoring on an error and a passed ball to cut it to a one-run game, 3-2. South Central took their first and only lead in the bottom of the second inning scoring a pair of runs on a Shoes error to go up 4-3. That lead did not hold long though as Teutopolis scored a run in the top of the third inning tying the game at 4-4. After a scoreless fourth inning, the Wooden Shoes took the lead with a run in the fifth inning before adding on two more in the sixth and seventh innings as the Cougars suffered the 9-4 loss. South Central is now 9-9 on the season and will be on the road on Tuesday taking on Brownstown-St. Elmo.
