The Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats fell behind 4-0 after two and a half innings and could not catch up, falling to the Odin-Patoka Eagles 4-2 in the championship game of the EIC-MTC tournament. The Eagles scored a run in the top of the second inning before adding three more in the third to take an early 4-0 lead over CHBC. The Bobcats chipped away at the deficit in the bottom of the third inning with a 2-RBI single from Isaac Wells, cutting the deficit to 4-2. Despite holding the Eagles scoreless the remainder of the game, the Bobcats were held to just one hit throughout the final four innings and could not push any more runs across the plate as they fell to the Eagles 4-2. CHBC moves to 4-8 on the season and will be on the road Monday to take on BSE in what will be the third meeting between the teams this season. So far, they have each won one game apiece as BSE topped CHBC 7-2 in their first meeting on August 25 while the Bobcats just beat the Bombers 9-2 on Wednesday night in the tournament.
