Altamont soccer continued their hot start to the season winning their sixth straight game shutting out Teutopolis 4-0 on the road on Tuesday. With a tense battle ensuing for the better part of the first half, the Indians broke through for the first goal of the game when Kaleb Overton found Hudson Short on a crossing pass and Short buried it for a 1-0 Altamont lead with a just under seven minutes to play in the first half. The Indians took that 1-0 lead into halftime but a quick start to the second half pushed Altamont’s lead out to 2-0 when an Aiden Rosales corner kick was tapped into the goal by Mason Suey. Not long after, Short found the back of the net on a rebound for his second goal of the game to put the Indians up 3-0. Altamont capped off the game’s scoring with just under 10 minutes to go in the second half when Ashton Buchanan chased down a thru ball by Rosales and scored to put the Indians up 4-0. Eli Barnes had 5 saves in goal for Altamont in the shutout. The Indians are now 6-1 on the season and will have a big road battle on Thursday when they travel to Olney to take on the 6-1 Tigers.
