Vandalia soccer returned home after a week that saw their games moved to their opponents’ locations last week to be played later at night due to the heat and lost a tough South Central Conference game to Staunton. The Bulldogs raced out to a quick lead, attacking the Vandalia defense and putting seven goals in by the midway point of the first half. Staunton would tap in two more goals in the half and triggered the mercy rule as the Vandals were handed the 9-0 loss. Vandalia will be back in action on Thursday as they travel to North Mac for another SCC game.
