Area junior high softball teams will jump into IESA postseason action today with a couple more playing Wednesday. In Class 1A, St. Elmo-Brownstown will host their own Regional with South Central taking the #1 seed and the host Lady Eagles are the #2 seed. CHBC is the #5 seed and Ramsey is the 6th seed in the Regional with all teams playing the Quarterfinals today. South Central hosts Effingham Sacred Heart at Webster Park in Kinmundy at 4:30pm, CHBC hosts St. Anthony at 4:30pm at Beecher City Park, SEB hosts Sigel St. Michael’s at 4:30pm at Deken Park and Ramsey will be at Neoga at 4:30pm at Jennings Park. The winners will play in the semifinals in St. Elmo on Wednesday. Vandalia and Altamont are both classified as 2A this season and will compete in the Macon Meridian Regional with the Lady Vandals earning the #1 seed and Altamont taking the #2 seed. They will both begin play in the semifinals on Wednesday with Vandalia taking on Shelbyville Moulton at 4:30pm and Altamont playing the inner of Macon Meridian and Pana at 6:30pm. The winner of those two games will meet in the Championship game on Saturday at 11:00am at the Meridian MS/HS softball field.
