Altamont picked up its fourth straight win while Vandalia is still looking for its first win of their young season after the Indians shut out the Vandals 7-0 in Altamont on Tuesday night. It was a rare game under the lights as the match was moved from Vandalia to Altamont and pushed back to a 7:00pm start due to the heat wave hitting the area this week. The Indians held off the attack of Vandalia and put in four goals in the first half as Mason Suey scored twice, assisted once by Aiden Rosales, while Hudson Short and Calvin Bannister who was assisted by Preston Kroening, each scored once to enter halftime up 4-0. Rosales scored shortly into the second half on an assist by Bannister and Short found Bannister not long after that goal to score again and push the Indians lead out to 6-0. The game’s scoring was wrapped up on Altamont’s last goal of the game from Ashton Buchanan to make it 7-0. Altamont moves to 4-1 on the season with the win and will play at Carlyle on Thursday with that game set to have a later start as well with game time set for 6:00pm. Vandalia drops to 0-2 on the season and they will be back on the road today at Taylorville.
