Altamont Soccer Shuts Out St. Anthony Behind Kroening’s Hat Trick and Two Goals from Rosales; Will Play for Championship of Their Own Tournament Today

Altamont soccer picked up their second consecutive win by shutout on Thursday beating St. Anthony 5-0 in their second game of their 1^st Annual Altamont Tournament. Senior Aiden Rosales opened the scoring for the Indians to take an early 1-0 lead and doubled that to 2-0 shortly after on a goal by freshman Preston Kroening with the assist from Mason Suey. Before the end of the first half, Hudson Short found Kroening who put in his second goal as Altamont took a 3-0 lead into the half. The Indians added on two more goals in the second half as Kroening completed the hat trick with his third goal, again assisted by Short, and Rosales scored his second goal of the game to make it 5-0 as Altamont cruised to the win. Eli Barnes and Zeke Barnes combined to get the clean sheet in goal for the Indians who are now 2-1 on the season and 2-0 in their tournament. In the second game on Thursday, Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond beat Robinson 3-2 to also move to 2-0 in the tournament so today’s game between the Indians and ALAH at 4:30pm at Altamont Grade School will serve as the tournament’s championship.
