St. Elmo-Brownstown picked up its third straight win while Vandalia suffered its first loss of the early season as the Lady Eagles beat the Lady Vandals in two sets 25-16, 25-18 on Thursday night. A midset surge for SEB allowed them to pull away for the first set win. The second set was a back and forth battle with both teams needing a handful of key plays in the back row to keep things tight. Vandalia put down some timely kills in the set, but some late unforced errors by the Lady Vandals allowed the Lady Eagles to capitalize and pull out the set and match win. SEB is now 3-0 on the season and will be back in action at home on Monday when they host Nokomis. Vandalia is now 1-1 to start the season and will be back at home on Tuesday to host Pana in non-conference action.
