BSE Uses Five Run Fourth Inning to Grab 7-2 Win Over CHBC

Cowden-Herick/Beecher City got on the scoreboard first but Brownstown-St. Elmo used a five run fourth inning to open a big lead on the Bobcats as the Bombers got a 7-2 win at Bob Page Field on Tuesday. The Bobcats took a 1-0 lead in the top of second inning on an RBI single by Lance Roadarmel. That lead only stood for a short time as BSE answered in the bottom of the inning with an RBI single by Tucker Davison to tie things up at 1-1. After a scoreless third inning for both teams, BSE drew three straight walks to open the bottom of the fourth and load the bases. A CHBC errors on a ground ball by Davison allowed two runs to score as BSE took their first lead of the game, 3-1, with the two runners still in scoring position. BSE senior Calvin Voelker then pulled off the squeeze bunt to sacrifice Schnarre in to score and the Bombers lead grew to 6-1 before the Bobcats were able to end the inning. CHBC got one run back in the top of the fifth inning on an RBI single by Connor Vaughn to cut it to 6-2 but that would be it for the Bobcats scoring in the game.
