The Altamont Indians baseball team scored early and got a dominant performance from Zaine Miller to open their season with a 3-1 win over the Windsor/Stew-Stras Hatchets. The Indians got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after a pair of singles, and an error put runners on the corners with no outs. Jayten Hunt grounded out, allowing Kaiden Wolff to score, giving the Indians a 1-0 lead. Two batters later, Kale Davis singled to score Blake Berg, extending the Altamont lead to 2-0. The Indians got an insurance run in the top of the fifth inning when Wolff hit a sacrifice fly to score Miller, making the score 3-0. The Hatchets made things interesting in the top of the seventh inning, getting a run back on an RBI single, making the score 3-1, but Wolff struck out the last two batters of the game, securing Altamont the 3-1 win.
