The Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats scored a pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning, but were unable to take the lead, falling to the Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Eagles in extra innings. The Bobcats got on the board in the top of the first inning when courtesy runner Curtis Bethel scored on a passed ball, giving CHBC a 1-0 lead. The lead would be short-lived, as OPS would score one run in the first and two in the second, taking a 3-1 lead. CHBC began to chip away at the deficit when Connor Vaughn reached on an error, allowing Kale Hardimon to score, making the score 3-2. The Eagles got an insurance run on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning, extending their lead to 4-2. The Bobcats tied the game in the top of the sixth inning when Zach Bennett tripled to score Max Kircher, and Ronnie Dilley grounded out to score Bennett, tying the game at 4. That score held until the bottom of the eighth, when the Eagles scored on a sacrifice bunt to earn the walk-off 5-4 win. The loss drops CHBC to 0-1 on the season. The Bobcats will be on the road on Tuesday to take on BSE.
