Kohnor Depew, Vandalia:

Depew will go down as one of the best athletes to go through Vandalia High School and further secured his name in the VCHS record books with a big senior year. In the spring, Depew did double duty again this year, tearing up the track and also excelling on the baseball field. After already setting several records his junior year, Depew broke his own records in the 100m Dash and 200m Dash and made a return trip to the IHSA 1A State Track Finals at EIU. There he placed 12th in the 100m Dash and once again got on the podium, finishing 6th in the 200m Dash. He ends his high school track career with four records as he is also a member of the 4×100 and 4×200 record holder relay teams. On the baseball field, Depew put together yet another stellar season as he would rack up a .423 batting average with 44 hits, 17 of those being extra base hits and five being home runs, along with 46 runs scored and 13 RBI as he hit in the leadoff spot. He also used his speed to steal 29 bases and splitting time between centerfield to start the season and then moving to shortstop later in the season, Depew had a .908 fielding percentage. Next up for Depew will be competing at the collegiate level as he will attend Millikin University to pay football.
