Altamont Track Kicks Off 2025 Season with Two First Place Finishes, Several Top 12 Finishes at EIU Indoor Invite

Altamont High School boys and girls track got their 2025 seasons underway with competition at the EIU Indoor Invite. Seniors Hayden Summers and Ben Roedl each came home with a first place finish as Summers took the top spot in the 400m Dash with a time of 53.42 seconds and Roedl took first place in the triple jump with a best jump of 13.07 meters or 42’ 10.5”. Roedl also had two more top 5 finishes in the long jump, placing second at 20’ 9.5” and in high jump placing fourth at 6’ 2”. Junior Jacob Veteto also placed in the top five with a fourth place finish in the Pole Vault at 12’ 11.5” and the 4×400 relay team of Hayden Bridges, Jacob Johnson, Trent Tedrick and Hayden Summers took 8^th place with a time of 3:46.22. As a team, the Indians finished 3rd out of 43 teams.

On the girls side of things, the Lady Indians had two top 12 finishes on the day as senior Abby Weishaar finished in 9^th place of the 400m Dash and the 4×200 relay team of Ada Roberts, Gabby Weishaar, Katie Tedrick and Abby Weishaar took 12^th place with a time of 1:56.11.

Next up for the Indians/Lady Indians will be the Central Illinois High Performance Classic indoor meet this Saturday at Illinois College in Jacksonville.
