McCall Qualifies for Southern Amateur Championship

VCHS grad and current Northern Illinois University golfer Conner McCall has qualified for the 120^th Southern Amateur Championship in July. McCall competed in the qualifier held at The Club at Old Hawthorn in Columbia, Missouri, the home course for the University of Missouri’s golf program. McCall took 2^nd place in the Sectional Tournament shooting a 5 under par 66, coming in just two strokes behind first place finisher Trenton Mierl of Austin, Texas. McCall will now head to the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Georgia for the Championship July 15 thru July 18. McCall will go through practice rounds on July 14 before playing the first two rounds on July 15 and 16 after which the field will be cut to the low 50 scores and ties. After being re-grouped, the remaining players who made the cut will play the third and fourth rounds on July 17 and 18 with the awards ceremony wrapping up the week.
