The Brownstown/St. Elmo Bombers were held to one run on three hits on Thursday, falling to the Cumberland Pirates 11-1. Logan Lach doubled hom Keelan Speagle to give BSE an early 1-0 lead, but the Pirates responded with a 4-run first, and a 4-run second to take an 8-1 lead. Cumberland tacked on three runs in the top of the fourth inning, and the Bombers were held scoreless in the top of the fifth, falling to the Pirates 11-1. BSE wraps up the regular season with a record of 9-11. The Bombers will start postseason play on Monday, when they host Ramsey-Mulberry Grove in the regional quarterfinals.
