Area Girls End Track Seasons at IHSA State Track Prelims

Three area high school girls track athletes ended their seasons on Thursday with competition at the IHSA 1A State Track Meet in the Prelims. Vandalia senior Hannah Brown finished in 16^th place, just 5.25” shy of making it to the Finals as she had a best throw of 35’ 5.25” with the cut being 35’ 10.5”. Brown ends her high school career as a two-time state medalist and is also a dual record holder for the Lady Vandals in the Discus and the Shot Put. Altamont freshman Baileigh Starnes finished her season with a 22^nd place finish in the 400m Dash with a time 1:01.64 coming up short of the time cur of 59.75 seconds to make the Finals. And Altamont freshman Kara Bauer placed 35^th in the Discus with a best throw of 83’ 11” coming on her first attempt of the day and did not advance to Finals.
