The Altamont Lady Indians took an early 1-0 lead, but couldn’t hang on, falling to the Casey-Westfield Lady Warriors 10-1 in the IHSA Class 1A Regional Championship. The Lady Indians got on the board in the top of the first inning when Alyssa Ruholl reached on a one-out single, before advancing to third on a passed ball, and later scoring on a wild pitch, giving Altamont a 1-0 lead. Casey-Westfield responded with a 3-run first inning, and 2-run second to take a 5-1 lead. After a scoreless third inning, the Lady Warriors tacked on a pair of runs in the fourth inning, before adding one in the fifth, and two in the sixth, to extend their lead to 10-1. Altamont made things interesting in the top of the seventh, putting two runners on base with one out, but were unable to scratch across any runs, falling to Casey-Westfield 10-1. The Lady Indians finish the season with a record of 10-18.
