Altamont allowed Hutsonville/Palestine to score just 5 runs on their 13 hits, but scoring only 3 runs on 6 hits themselves, the Lady Indians took the tough 5-3 loss on Monday night at home. After the Tigers took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, Altamont was able to cut that in half as an Ella Nelson double to center field scored Cecilia Pearcy from first base to cut it to 2-1. An inning later, the Lady Indians tied the game up at 2-2 as Pearcy singled to the pitcher with bases loaded and courtesy runner Reagan Kuenstler raced home from third to score. The tie was short lived as the Tigers regain the lead 3-2 in the top of the third inning and pushed that lead to 5-2 with another two runs in the top of the fourth inning. Altamont scored their final run of the game fourth as Avery Fleeharty doubled to right field to score Alyssa Ruholl and pull Altamont to within two runs, 5-3, which proved to be the final score after three scoreless innings to tend the game. With the close loss, Altamont is now 8-16 on the season and goes on the road today to take on Charleston.
