Area Junior High Athletes Qualify for IESA 2A State Track Meet

A large number of I70Sports area junior high track and field athletes have qualified for the IESA 2A Track and Field State Finals. IESA 1A and 2A Sectionals were held around the state on Saturday and four area schools – Altamont (2A), BSE (2A), CHBC (2A) and South Central (2A) – had athletes either finish in first place in their event or meet/exceed the state qualifying standards to earn their spots at State. The IESA 1A/2A State Track Meet will be held this coming Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16 at the Eastside Centre in East Peoria.

ALTAMONT BOYS State Qualifiers

Easton Caraway (7^th Grade) – 100m Dash (1^st place), 200m Dash (1^st place) and Long Jump (1^st place)

Griffin Kroening (7^th Grade) – 400m Dash (3^rd place),

Preston Kroening (8^th Grade) – 100m Hurdles (2^nd place),

Hayden Veteto (8^th Grade) – 100m Dash (1^st place) and Pole Vault (2^nd place)
