The Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats broke the game open with a 3-run fourth inning to come away with an 8-1 win over the Ramsey-Mulberry Grove Rams. Ben Askins got the Bobcats on the board, scoring on a passed ball to give CHBC a 1-0 lead. That score held until the bottom of the fourth inning when Isaac Miller doubled to score Cayden Ondes, extending the CHBC lead to 2-0. Max Kircher reached on an error, allowing Miller to score, before a Kale Hardimon fielder’s choice capped off the 3-run fourth inning, giving the Bobcats a 4-0 lead. A 2-RBI double from Daithyn Aronold extended the CHBC lead to 6-0, before Ramsey got on the board in the top of the sixth, cutting the lead to 6-1. The Bobcats got a pair of insurance runs on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning, and kept the Rams off the board in the seventh inning, securing the 8-1 win. The win improves CHBC to 5-11 on the season. The Bobcats will be back home on Monday to take on Flora. The loss drops Ramsey-Mulberry Grove to 0-17 on the season. The Rams will be back home on Tuesday to take on Christ Our Rock Lutheran.
