The Altamont girls track team took third place at the National Trail Conference meet on Wednesday after holding second for most of the meet. Despite having just seven girls competing, the Lady Indians finished with 81 points coming in behind first place St. Anthony with 152 and second place Cumberland with 88 points. The Lady Indians captured four event championships as freshman Baileigh Starnes took first place in the 200m Dash and sophomore Keely Fleeharty took first in the High Jump. The 4×100 and 4×200 relay teams both made up of senior Katie Tedrick, Fleeharty, freshman Quincy Niermann and Starnes both took first as well. The Altamont girls will get right back into action today competing at Hillsboro.
ALTAMONT GIRLS INDIVIDUAL FINISHES:
- Baileigh Starnes: 1st in the 200m Dash (27.53 seconds) and 3rd in the 100m Dash (13.65 seconds)
- Keely Fleeharty: 1st in the High Jump (4’ 7.75”)
- Quincy Niermann: 2nd in the 200m Dash (28.42 seconds) and 4th in the 200m Dash (13.78 seconds)
- Katie Tedrick: 3rd in the Pole Vault (7’) and 5th in the 300 Hurdles (58.26 seconds)
- Kara Bauer: 3rd in the Shot Put (28’ 8.5”) and 6th in the Long Jump (13’ 5”)
- Jenna Kollman: 3rd in the Discus (92’ 11.75”) and 5th in the Shot Put (27’ 0.75”)
- 4×100 Relay (Tedrick, Fleeharty, Niermann and Starnes) – 1st place, 53.79 seconds
- 4×20 Relay (Tedrick, Fleeharty, Niermann and Starnes) – 1st place, 1:55.52
