#9 St. Elmo-Brownstown No-Hit By #1 WSS in NTC Tournament Quarterfinals

The SEB Lady Eagles faced a big task on Monday and held string for three innings before #1 seed Windsor/Stew-Stras bust the game open to hand SEB a 12-0 loss in the quarterfinals in the National Trail Conference Softball Tournament. The Lady Eagles held the Hatchets scoreless for two innings before WSS broke through with a run in the bottom of the third inning. SEB was hitless going into the fourth inning but with two outs got a base runner on when Macey Sapp was hit by a pitch. She would be stranded on base however to end the half inning as the Lady Eagles continued to trail 1-0. WSS came out firing in the bottom of the fourth and stacked up base hits with a walk and a hit by pitch sprinkled in as they put 11 runs on the scoreboard to trigger the run rule and hand SEB the 12-0 loss in four innings. The Lady Eagles now move into the consolation bracket where they will face #5 Dieterich at 4:15pm on Wednesday at Evergreen Park in Effingham.
