The St. Elmo/Brownstown Lady Eagles jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back, coming away with a 15-0 win over the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Lady Bobcats in the play-in game on the NTC Tournament. The Lady Eagles got on the board in the top of the first inning when Izzy Orr singled to score Dayana Haslett, giving SEB a 1-0 lead. Singles from Brooklun Landrus and Auni Wollin extended the lead to 3-0, and Cami Haslett reached on an error to score Wollin, making the score 4-0. An RBI single from Cami Haslett in the third inning gave SEB a 5-0 lead, and the Lady Eagles broke the game open with a 3-run fourth inning, highlighted by an RBI single from Landrus. SEB hit 5 consecutive two-out singles in the top of the fifth inning to extend their lead to 15-0, and Kadence Speagle struck out the side, securing the 15-0 win. The win improves SEB to 8-11 on the season. The Lady Eagles will take on the #1-seeded Windsor/Stew-Strass Hatchets on Monday. The loss drops CHBC to 2-15 on the season. The Lady Bobcats will be back home on Tuesday to take on Ramsey.
