CHBC had no answer for a strong Dieterich offensive front on Tuesday as the Lady Bobcats were handed a 17-2 loss on the road in National Trail Conference play. After Dieterich took a slim 1-0 lead at the end of the second inning, CHBC was able to grab a 2-1 lead when Harper Lilly hit a triple to right field to drive in a run and then Ryleigh Sarver drive in Lilly with a single to left field. That lead was quickly erased though as Dieterich put up a 7-run inning in the third to retake the lead, 8-2. CHBC was sat down on the minimum three batters in the top of the fourth inning though and were unable to cut into the Maroons lead. Dieterich then topped their previous inning’s scoring output pushing 9 more runs across the plate to push their lead to 17-2 and trigger the run rule. CHBC drops to 2-13 on the season and to 2-6 in NTC play. They will play their last regular season NTC game on Thursday at Windsor/Stew-Stras and will then play their first NTC Tournament game on Friday hosting SEB in one of the tournament’s two play-in games.
