The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association on Friday released its 2025-2026 Coach of the Year Award winners for college, high school and junior high boys and girls basketball. In District 14 High School Boys Basketball, Altamont Coach John Niebrugge is the 1A Coach of the Year. In District 14 High School Girls Basketball, Brownstown-St. Elmo Coach Tim Pasley is one of three 1A coaches chosen as Coach of the Year as he joins girls basketball coaches from Cumberland, Brandon Miller, and Joe Morrisey of Hume Shiloh. In District 14 Jr. High Boys Basketball, Vandalia Coach Brian Buscher has been chosen as the Class 7-3A Coach of the Year. All of the IBCA Coach of the Year recipients will be honored at the IBCA Coach of the Year Award Luncheon on May 2.
