Altamont Holds off WSS for 8th Straight Win


The Altamont Indians used late inning runs, and a complete game pitching outing from Zaine Miller to come away with a 3-1 win over the Windsor/Stew-Strass Hatcherts on Monday. After 4 scoreless innings of play, Altamont broke through in the top of the fifth inning when Reed Stuemke reached on a fielder’s choice and Kade Milleville singled to put two on with two out for Carson Milleville, would would break the tie with a 2-RBI single to give the Indians a 2-0 lead. Altamont would get an insurance run in the top of the sixth inning when Brayden Elam walked, and Cooper McManaway tripled to make the score 3-0. The Hatchets would get their lone run on the board in the bottom of the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly, but Miller would strikeout the last batter he faced to secure the Indians with the 3-1 win. The win pushes Altamont to 11-4 on the season. The Indians will be back on the road on Tuesday to take on Tuscola.
