Altamont Softball Suffer Loss to Newton By No-Hitter

Altamont softball had no answer for Newton pitcher Lexie Ghast on Friday as the Lady Indians were no-hit by the Lady Eagles on Friday evening. Both teams went scoreless in the first inning, but Newton was able to put up four runs in the second inning to get their scoring started with a 4-0 lead. They would put up another four-run inning in the third, tack on two runs in the fourth inning and had another four-run inning in the fifth to go up 14-0 and held Altamont scoreless and hitless the entire way as the Lady Indians suffered the loss. Altamont will be off for the weekend and then will get back on the field Monday as they have a tough National Trail Conference matchup at home against Windsor/Stew-Stras.
