The South Central Cougars could not keep up with the offense of the Greenville Comets, falling 10-3 on Tuesday at GCS Ballpark. The Comets would take an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning before the Cougars got a run back in the bottom half on an RBI single from Aiden Hoover to make the score 3-1. A bases-loaded hit by pitch to Hudson Moore made the score 3-2, and a passed ball allowed Aiden Strobel to score, tying the game at 3. Greenville would use a 2-run third inning to take a 5-3 lead, before breaking the game open with a 4-run fifth inning to push their lead to 9-3. The Comets added an insurance run in the top of the sixth, and the Cougars would be held scoreless, falling to Greenville 10-3. The loss drops South Central to 4-8 on the season. The Cougars will be back at home tonight, taking on the Flora Wolves in the South Central Wood Bat Tournament.
